The Sahara Desert

Upon leaving the High Atlas, we went back to Marrakech, and caught a three day tour to Merzouga, at the fringes of the Sahara desert. On our way to the desert, we visited a number of fascinating areas, including the kasbahs at Aït-Benhaddou and the Dadès Gorge. On arrival at Merzouga, we went by camel into the dunes, and stayed overnight in a Bedouin tent. We were fortunate enough to experience a sand storm and even a few drops of rain !

Upon returning to Marrakech, we went to the coast.
